Alewerks Brewing Company is one of the longest running craft breweries in Hampton Roads, specializing in sharing our love of craft beer through balance, authenticity, and creativity.

Alewerks is a veteran-owned facility founded in 2006 by retired US Army Colonel Chuck Haines. Both family friendly taprooms are open daily serving a wide variety of craft beer, snacks, and house-made artisan pretzels with food trucks on site regularly.

FLAGSHIPS

Superb IPA – American IPA – 6.3%

Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hops, notes of tropical fruit abound, particularly mango and passion fruit. The hop presence provides complexity, but it is still soft on the palate.

Weekend Lager – Munich-Style Helles Lager – 4.8%

Made in the Munich Helles style and unfiltered like all our beer. It’s a little spicy, wholly smooth and super drinkable.

Tavern Brown Ale – American Brown Ale – 5.7%

We’ve brewed Tavern Brown Ale since we started in 2006. This approachable, yet still complex, American Brown ale has aromas of toasted coffee, followed by flavors of nuts, caramel and a touch of chocolate. The finish is warm with a hint of citrus.

Protocol Porter – Robust Porter – 5.6%

This robust porter is boldly American, and big in all the right places. Look for notes of roasted coffee and toasted cocoa.

Chesapeake Pale Ale – American Pale Ale – 5.6%

Chesapeake Pale Ale features a bright, floral aroma and flavor thanks to Cascade, Chinook, Amarillo and Centennial hops, used with a heavy hand in both the brewing and dry-hop process. For 16 years, Chesapeake Pale Ale has been celebrating the integral role its namesake estuary plays in our community. Today, portions of sales proceeds support the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

Anywhere IPA

Juicy hops first greet the nose and mouth with every sip of Anywhere IPA. Mango and pineapple with hints of grapefruit and orange piggyback on just a touch of caramel malt to give a full spectrum of IPA flavors.

Shortcake – Strawberry Blonde Ale – 7%

A rich blonde ale brewed with strawberries and milk sugar. Biscuit aromas and delicately candied flavors create a satisfyingly smooth experience
